My honey, Mista Brooks, has a lot of exciting stuff going on right now. This past weekend, we attended iFest as vendors. Brooks booked a table that was shoved into a corner in the Armory at Seattle Center. Despite our out-of-the-way spot, lots of visitors sat down to play Tea Frenzy. People loved the flying teapot word game (of course)! The best part was watching a little girl’s face light up when the game started. She came back three times!
It’s the 50th anniversary of Star Trek this year and all kinds of geeky stuff is going on around the world to celebrate the important cultural phenomenon. This coming weekend is the exhibition opening of Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds at EMP. Brooks curated the exhibit and it is incredisteller! I am exploding with excitement for the opening event this Friday. He’s been working so hard for so long to create a show that highlights what Star Trek is really about. If you want to get a sneak peek you can watch this video. Brent Spiner (Data) and Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar) will be at the landing party!
I could gush about my honey and his talent all day, but I like to keep my blogposts short. Brooks insisted I quote him for this post, though. My honey says, “Every creative person should have a friend and partner like Margaret.” I am equally as lucky to have a partner like Mista Brooks. Next Monday’s post will have lots of pictures of the exhibit opening. I can’t wait to show you how awesome it is!!!
